The secret to utilising your storage space effectively is in the way you pack your items in the first place. Failing to fill boxes properly or using packaging that is larger than necessary will result in storage space being wasted but there are a number of things you can do to make sure this doesn’t happen.

Make sure that you completely fill boxes (though be careful not to add more weight than the box – or you – can handle) and distribute the weight evenly to make sure that they don’t collapse. Using good quality, sturdy boxes will also help to avoid this. Also, use square or rectangle boxes when possible as any other shapes will be far harder to store efficiently.
