Container Hire Sizes

What are the typical sizes of different containers? Here are the standard sizes that you can expect to find at a self-storage facility:

  • Standard shipping containers are usually 8ft wide (2.43m), 8.5ft high (2.59m) and often are available in two different lengths, either 20ft (6.06m) and 40ft (12.2m)
  • Tall shipping containers are usually available at 9.5ft (2.89m)
  • Small containers are usually sized around 10ft (2.99m) or 8ft (2.43m)

A standard shipping container has the capacity to hold enough room for almost 100 household washing machines!
